Delivering Value Through Data
Throughout 2018, Future Agenda canvassed the views of over 900 experts from multiple backgrounds with a range of different perspectives in order to discuss their views about the future value of data. Supported by a number of organisations, we held 30 workshops across 24 countries to review the data landscape across the globe, as it is now, and how it may evolve over the next five to ten years. This website and the associated “Delivering Value Through Data” report provides an overview of these discussions and aims to deliver a comprehensive picture of the sheer variety of issues and views…
Future of Digital Identity
How we prove that we are who or what we say we are during digital transactions and interactions is set to become one of the defining features of the next stage of the human digital transformation. Today, we are living with early attempts to solve the identity problem that are no longer fit for purpose. At best, the multiple different ways we login, confirm our identities, and establish trust in claims made during digital exchanges, has become profoundly inconvenient. At worst, they have left us in a connected world which is neither safe nor secure, and in which we seem…
The Future of Healthcare
There are two things we can say for certain about the future: it will be different, and it will surprise. Nowhere is this more evident than in global healthcare. The challenges and opportunities facing the sector are many and varied, and the need for flexible, capable leadership that can shape the future is clearer than ever. Future of Autonomous Vehicles
There are great expectations around the future of autonomous vehicles (AVs) and equally much uncertainty. Some believe that AVs will transform safety and efficiency and are making significant investments in this area. Others are concerned that the technological developments are outpacing society’s ability to adapt, and there is an urgent requirement to develop better regulation before there is widespread deployment. A global Open Foresight project exploring the key issues for the future of AVs is being undertaken by Future Agenda. Expert workshops around the world are building the informed view.
Future of Cities
Cities are where innovation happens, where ideas form and where economic growth largely stems. They are where most of us live and are also where significant problems can emerge as well as where challenges can be magnified. Cities around the world are now wrestling with reducing air pollution, congestion and inequality, but they are also becoming test-beds for innovation that is then shared globally. Building on previous research, the Future Agenda team focused in depth on the Future of Cities via 12 discussions in 9 key cities between November 2014 and March 2017.
Future of Patient Data
It is clear that we are witnessing a growing revolution around the provision of healthcare. In the main this is being driven by the proliferation of medical data and the technology that supports this. As the pressures on existing healthcare providers continue to escalate, the better collection, management and use of more patient-specific information provides a significant opportunity for innovation and change. In the winter of 2017/18 the Future Agenda team made this the focus of our latest Open Foresight project and this led us to hold 12 discussions across 11 countries and gather outlooks from over 300 experts. During…
